ADHESION AND APPLICATION
Mastersil universal silicone sealant has excellent adhesion without the use of a primer to most non-porous materials: glass, tile, ceramics, enamel, tile, Dutch brick; metals such as aluminum, steel, zinc and copper, impregnated, varnished or painted wood and many types of plastics. Users can also conduct their own experiments thanks to the variety of materials. In some cases, the adhesion quality can be improved by pretreating the surface with a primer. Wide range of applications: for sealing, sealing and compensation of movement of construction joints, window frames and doorways, shop windows, lighting boards and ventilation systems. Sealing joints and cracks in rooms with high humidity: in bathrooms, saunas, kitchens, for sealing joints between facing tiles. Installation and sealing of plumbing equipment. PREPARATION FOR USE
The surfaces on which the sealant will subsequently be applied must be clean, dry and free of any loose materials, dust, dirt, rust, oil or other contaminants. If necessary, clean non-porous surfaces with a solvent and wipe with a clean cotton cloth. Remove the solvent with a clean, dry cloth before it evaporates. it is recommended to cover the areas adjacent to the seam with masking tapes to prevent contamination of the substrate and ensure a neat line of sealant. the masking tape should be removed immediately after smoothing the sealant. The time required for complete vulcanization can be extended at low temperatures, low humidity, with an increase in film thickness or a low volume of air volume. If possible, the use of processing tools should be avoided. Otherwise, you should use water or a dilute solution with a small amount of neutral soap or alcohol in water in a moderate volume
RESTRICTIONS OF USE
· It is not recommended to use for working with double-glazed windows.
· It is not recommended to use for structural glazing.
· It is not recommended to use with metals such as lead, copper, brass or zinc, due to corrosion.· Incompatible with alkaline substrates such as marble, concrete, fibrous cement and lime, since during vulcanization, the product releases acetic acid.
· It is not recommended to use with natural stone: marble, granite and quartzite, as this causes staining.
· It is not recommended to use it to fasten an aquarium or materials subject to immersion in water for a long time.
· Not recommended for food-related applications, where the seams may have contact with food.
· It is not recommended to use for mounting mirrors.
SECURITY
During vulcanization, acetic acid is released. It is not recommended to inhale these vapors for a long time or at their high concentration.
