ADHESION AND APPLICATION
Silicone sealant 791 has a high degree of adhesion without using a primer with most non-porous surfaces, for example, glass, tiles, ceramics, enamel, tiles, metals such as aluminum, steel, zinc and copper, with impregnated, varnished or painted wood; with alkaline substrates and porous surfaces, such as concrete, lime, stone or brickwork; with many types of plastics. Users can also conduct their own experiments due to the variety of materials, especially in the case of plastic. Suitable for sealing seams in projects with structural glazing. It can be used to seal the seams of the house between the window glass and the supporting structure, for sanitary works. Facade sealant provides long-lasting, reliable adhesion to most materials. Does not cause corrosion of metals. Excellent adhesion without the use of primer to most materials. Compatible with water-based and solvent-based coatings. Rapidly vulcanizing, resistant to ozone, ultraviolet radiation and extreme temperatures.
PREPARATION FOR USE
The surfaces on which the sealant will subsequently be applied must be clean, dry and free of any loose materials, dust, dirt, rust, oil or other contaminants. If necessary, clean non-porous surfaces with a solvent and wipe with a clean cotton cloth. Remove the solvent with a clean, dry cloth before it evaporates. it is recommended to cover the areas adjacent to the seam with masking tapes to prevent contamination and ensure a neat line of sealant. The masking tape should be removed immediately after smoothing the sealant.
RESTRICTIONS OF USE
· Silicone sealant 791 is not suitable for use in double-glazed windows.* Silicone sealant 791 may discolor when in contact with other elastomers, such as EPDM, APTK and neoprene or bitumen surfaces.· For any building materials that will be in contact with silicone sealant 791, such as solid bases, liquids or gaseous vapors of other building materials, it is necessary to make sure that they are compatible and that they will not cause a physical or chemical change that may lead to discoloration of the sealant or deterioration of its functional qualities.
· When used in joints subject to mechanical stress, where excessive physical friction is assumed, for example, in pedestrian areas, the sealant should be immersed slightly below the level of the adjacent surface.
· Sealant 791 is not recommended for sealing the aquarium or those areas that are submerged in water for a long time. For these purposes, we recommend silicone sealant 881.
· Silicone sealant 791 is not suitable for use in cases where the sealing seams may come into contact with food.
SECURITY
During vulcanization, ethanol is released. It is not recommended to inhale ethanol vapors for a long time or at high concentrations. It is necessary to ensure good ventilation of the workplace. If the non-vulcanized silicone sealant gets into the eyes or mucous membranes, they must be thoroughly rinsed with water to avoid irritation.
Vulcanized silicone sealant is safe for health.
